Richardson Completes Acquisition of 8th Avenue Pasta Business
Richardson International Limited has closed its acquisition of the 8th Avenue Food & Provisions Inc. pasta business from Post Holdings, a deal announced back in August 2025.
Richardson reportedly paid $375 million in cash and assumed approximately $80 million in leaseback financial liabilities — according to details shared in August — and Post retained the 8th Avenue nut butters, fruit and nut products, and granola businesses.
The 8th Avenue business fits into Richardson’s fully integrated business model while expanding its presence across retail, private label, foodservice and ingredient channels, the company’s release said. Richardson takes ownership of the Ronzoni brand of pasta as well as a durum mill and three pasta manufacturing facilities in the transaction. The Carrington, N.D., facility combines durum milling and pasta production, while facilities in New Hope, Minn., and Winchester, Va., are dedicated solely to pasta processing.
More than 500 8th Avenue employees — including operations — will become part of Richardson’s U.S. team, and sales and commercial staff will transition to the company’s U.S. office in St. Louis, Mo., the company said.
