Campbell’s Buying Into Italian Supplier of Rao’s Pasta Sauces
The Italian maker of Rao’s pasta sauces is selling a 49% interest in the company to Campbell's Co., since early 2024 the owner of Rao’s.
Campbell’s will pay $286 million in two installments for the 49% ownership of La Regina di San Marzano di Antonio Romano S.p.A. and La Regina Atlantica LLC. La Regina was founded in 1972 and has been a Rao’s partner since 1993.
The sauce-maker is based in Scafati, Italy, but also operates a facility in the U.S. in Alma, Ga.
“The transaction strengthens the partnership between Campbell’s and La Regina, ensuring Rao’s continued commitment to the highest quality products while accelerating innovation and new product development,” Campbell’s said. The transaction is anticipated to close in the second half of Campbell’s fiscal 2026; Campbell’s fiscal year will end on or around July 28, 2026.
