Rich Products Buys Great Kitchens Food Co. From Brynwood Partners

The investment firm pieced together Aryzta North America's pizza and flatbread business with Uno’s deep dish pizzas to create Great Kitchens.

Brynwood Partners VIII sold Great Kitchens Food Co., one of its portfolio companies, to Rich Products Corp. Price and details were not disclosed.

Brynwood VIII formed Great Kitchens in December 2020 to acquire Aryzta North America's take-and-bake pizza and flatbread business in a carveout transaction. In February 2023, the company acquired the Uno Foods Division of Uno Restaurant Holdings Corp., maker of the iconic Pizzeria Uno Chicago deep-dish pizza, stromboli and calzones for retail sale.

Great Kitchens' private label and branded food products are sold nationally through major grocery store, wholesale club, foodservice and ecommerce channels. The company manufactures at three facilities: in Romeoville and Chicago Heights, Ill., both Chicago suburbs, and Brockton Mass. Great Kitchens, which is headquartered in its Romeoville facility, employs more 1,000 across the three-facilities.

From the looks of their website, Rich Products makes pizza crusts for branded manufacturers and foodservice.

In the past eight months, Brynwood Partners sold Harvest Hill Beverage Co. to Castillo Hermanos and Centerview Partners, then bought the Chef Boyardee brand from Conagra Brands. The portfolio of the current fund, Brynwood IX, consists of Carolina Beverage Group, Hometown Food Co., West Madison Foods and Miracapo Pizza Co. In total, Brynwood Partners' portfolio companies have annual sales of over $2.5 billion, employ more than 3,300 employees and manufacture products out of 11 facilities.
