June 10, 2024
Former BFY Brands plant, now part of Frito-Lay, will eliminate 88 positions.

PepsiCo Inc. WARNed New York state officials it will eliminate 88 jobs at its Frito-Lay facility in Middletown, N.Y. There are a total of 305 employees at the site.

The announcement was part of a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice filed May 30 with New York’s Dept. of Labor. The layoffs will begin Aug. 30. PepsiCo said economic factors were the cause.

PepsiCo acquired the plant when it bought BFY Brands, which makes PopCorners and other salty snacks, in late 2019.
