An Oscar Mayer Wienermobile collided with another car and flipped on its side Monday morning on Chicagoland’s busy Tri-State Tollway/Interstate 294, but everybody appears to be OK.

The iconic hot dog-and-bun vehicle was headed north on I-294 just west of Chicago shortly after 11 a.m. when it collided with a sedan that was also headed north, Illinois State Police told local media. The driver of the Wienermobile lost control, and the vehicle rolled on its side.

No one was injured in the crash, but it forced the closure of one of the northbound lanes of I-294 for more than an hour. The bun appears intact but the hot dog sustained minor damage. No mustard or other condiments were reported spilled. Ketchup is not allowed on hot dogs in Chicago.

The Oscar Mayer website said “a” Wienermobile was scheduled for four appearances in Grand Rapids, Mich., July 23-25, and the TriState Tollway would have been the likely route. The website says there are six such vehicles in the “Wienermobile Meat Fleet.”
