Dairy Farmers of America plans to close its dairy ingredient facility – called DairiConcepts -- in Pollock, S.D. "after a careful analysis of new demand and current supply dynamics."

The closing will eliminate 33 full-time jobs and four part-time positions. A timetable for the closing was not reported.

A statement from DFA, carried by KFYR TV, said: “After a careful analysis of new demand and current supply dynamics and as part of a coordinated, Cooperative-wide milk marketing and balancing optimization project, the decision has been made to close our dairy ingredient facility in Pollock … The raw milk volume currently received at the Pollock plant will continue to have a home at nearby production facilities, and our customers will continue to be served by our network of ingredients facilities.”
