Nestlé USA will spend $150 million to expand its Gaffney, S.C., production facility, according to a release shared by the Office of the Governor of South Carolina.
The project includes addition of a new production line for single-serve frozen meals as well as enhanced automation and digital technology, the release said. The plant opened in 1980 and is one of 112 facilities in the U.S. that the company owns.
Gaffney factory manager Nicole Caldwell said the investment exemplifies the company’s dedication to the Gaffney community and “reflects our continued commitment to enhance our U.S. manufacturing footprint and in-house capabilities. These enhancements will enable us to meet the consumer demand for the beloved brands in our frozen meals portfolio.”
