Monster Closing Squatters and Wasatch Brewery in Salt Lake City

The energy drink company will move production to other breweries in the Monster network.
May 1, 2025

Monster Beverage reportedly is closing the brewery behind two iconic craft beer brands in Utah. Squatters Craft Beers and Wasatch Brewery will no longer be brewed in the Salt Lake City facility they’ve called home, but they will continue to be made at other breweries in the Monster network.

The facility, which encompasses a brewery, tap room and beer store, will close on May 23, idling 25 people.

Although Monster is best known for its namesake energy drink, the company acquired the two historic craft breweries in early 2022 when it purchased CANarchy Brewery Collective, which included Denver’s Oskar Blues, Cigar City Brewing Co. in Florida, Dallas’ Deep Ellum Brewing Co., Perrin Brewing Co. in Michigan and Utah’s Squatters and Wasatch breweries – all that according to ProBrewer.
