King’s Hawaiian will invest roughly $54 million to expand its Oakwood, Ga., facility and produce additional varieties of the company’s Pretzel Bites, according to a release from Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp’s office sent to Food Processing.

The plant expansion, which is expected to be operational in the second quarter of 2026, will add one production line to the 150,000-sq.-ft. facility and provide 135 new jobs. It’s the latest growth initiative in the state by King’s Hawaiian, which first moved into Georgia in 2010 and has grown to support more than 800 jobs there today.

King’s Hawaiian was founded more than 70 years ago in Hilo, Hawaii, and its parent company, Irresistible Foods Group, has been expanding its production footprint on the mainland U.S. for the last couple years. In December 2023, Irresistible announced plans to build a $200 million food plant in Taylorsville, Ind. Then, last June, the company announced it would also build an additional, $54 million facility on the same site in Indiana.
