Wyandot Snacks to Invest $7.7 Million to Expand Marion, Ohio, Plant
Private-label snack maker Wyandot Snacks will invest $7.7 million to expand its processing facility in Marion, Ohio, according to a release from the local economic development group. The expansion will modernize the plant and also include new equipment, creating 67 new jobs at the location.
Wyandot produces salty snacks, including tortilla chips, extruded puffs and other plant-based products, which are sold across the country, the release noted. This expansion will enhance the facility’s efficiency and productivity, while also boosting its product innovation capabilities. According to the company’s web site, the plant currently boasts 250,000 sq. ft. of space.
Lori Roberts, veteran executive at Wyandot, said the investment reaffirms the company’s commitment to its hometown of Marion, and that it will help it continue to deliver high-quality snacks to customers.
