Jackson’s Expands Muskego, Wisconsin, Snack Foods Plant
Jackson’s, a snack foods manufacturer focused on better-for-you chips cooked in non-seed oils, officially christened its Muskego, Wis., production facility expansion this week with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The company expanded to 130,000 sq. ft. to meet growing demand for its products, and CEO James Marino explained during the event how the expansion projects of the plant continued to snowball into the next.
“In parallel to the Phase 2.5 expansion, we started Phase 3, which led us to expand into the entire approximate 130,000 square feet of this building,” said Marino. “The first phase completion, of which is what we're celebrating today, is an entirely new production and office space — nearly twice the size of Phases 1 and 2 combined.”
The expansion also allowed Jackson’s to more than double its workforce from 50 to 107 employees, and the company plans to hire 25 additional workers as well. Jackson’s sells its products nationwide and will see distribution grow in Walmart, for example, from 500 to 4,000 stores in early October.
Jackson’s was founded when Megan and Scott Reamer’s son, Jackson, was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder, and the family struggled to find snack foods they could enjoy that fit into a high-fat, low-carb diet that they’d adopted to help ease his symptoms. Today, the company makes better-for-you, seed oil-free chips for national distribution.
