Fairlife hosted a ceremonial ribbon-cutting to celebrate the “soft opening” of its new Webster, N.Y., processing plant, according to various news reports and the office of New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, who attended the event.

The dairy processing facility represents a $650 million investment for Fairlife and spans 745,000 sq. ft. Although the plant is expected to process between 5 million and 6 million pounds of milk per day, it is currently still ramping up, according to reports, and work remains to build out some areas of the facility. The company expects that the plant’s three lines will be fully operational later this year.

The facility also appears to have room for future expansions already built in, according to reports. Some 380 employees have already been hired, with more hiring on the way. Plans for the Webster plant were first announced by Fairlife parent company Coca-Cola in May 2023, and construction started in April 2024.

The Webster grand opening comes on the heels of Fairlife’s groundbreaking on a $650 million expansion of its Coopersville, Mich., plant — both of which have proceeded in the wake of a July 2026 cyberattack on the operations side of the business.

A little more than a month ago, Fairlife’s U.S. operations were suspended temporarily due to a cyberattack on its network. A hacker group claimed responsibility on July 21, admitting that it had entered the system and stole data from the company — it demanded a ransom to prevent it from being published on the dark web. By July 27, Coca-Cola said a majority of production at its four U.S. facilities had been restored.
