Maryland-based poultry company Holly Poultry has opened a new, 80,000-sq.-ft. facility in Anne Arundel County, Md., in order to drive growth for its retail and private-label businesses. Holly Poultry has more than three decades of experience serving foodservice customers, and the new plant will be dedicated to private-label production and processing products for the company’s Easy Street and One Fine Chicken retail brands.

The new facility will employ 140 new workers, and the added production capacity will give the company room to not only support existing customers but also expand distribution and customer base, and develop new products and flavors.

Easy Street products are further-processed items, offering NAE fresh chicken thighs that are pre-diced and dry-seasoned in a variety of flavors, allowing consumers to take the chicken and prepare it “from fridge to plate in about seven minutes.” One Fine Chicken products are also NAE, fresh chicken products found in the “everyday poultry aisle,” the company said.

Zach Fine, CEO of Holly Poultry, said the company “saw an opportunity to bring more to the fresh chicken case, and the response from retailers and consumers has reinforced that.”
