Nestle Recalling Misbranded Frozen Pizzas

Nestle USA is recalling approximately 27,872 lbs. of frozen pizzas not due to any contamination but because of misbranding and undeclared allergens, USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) reports.

Packages of DiGiorno Crispy Pan Crust pepperoni pizza may actually contain three-meat pizza. Not only is that misbranding, but the three-meat pizza contains textured soy protein, which is a known allergen but is not declared on the product label.

The pizzas were produced on June 30 by Nation Pizza Products Ltd., which is owned by Nestle USA, and carry a “Best Buy” date of March 2022 on the label. FSIS says there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of the products.
