Wagner Leaves Consumer Brands Assn. for International Dairy Foods Assn.

Roberta Wagner will be senior vice president of regulatory and scientific affairs, succeeding Joseph Scimeca, who’s retiring.

Roberta Wagner has moved from Consumer Brands Assn. to the International Dairy Foods Assn., taking over as senior vice president of regulatory and scientific affairs. She succeeds Joseph Scimeca, who’s retiring.

At Consumer Brands, Wagner was vice president of regulatory and technical affairs since 2019. During his time in that role at IDFA, Scimeca helped guide dairy members through the Covid-19 pandemic and defended dairy’s role in the 2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans report.

Wagner spent 33 years in public service, most recently as the assistant administrator of the Office of Policy and Program Development at USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service. Wagner also spent more than 25 years with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), working in a variety of roles from analytical chemist to associate commissioner for Food Safety Modernization Act implementation.
