NSF Acquires Natural Foods, Supplement Testing and Development Company
NSF has acquired Cambium Analytica, an analytical testing and development company that serves the natural food, beverage and dietary supplement industries. The move gives the global health and safety organization, known primarily for its third-party audits, additional capabilities in areas of the industry driving consumer trends.
Increased focus by consumers on health and wellness, the use of food as medicine, and product development around those trends spurred NSF’s interest in Cambia’s offerings, and now the company can help processors maintain safe, quality products while addressing these consumer demands.
According to the release from NSF, this acquisition bridges critical gaps in the natural products market, with Cambium’s in-process QA and batch release testing, contract research and product development services integrating with NSF’s audit-focused certification programs.
Cambium will join NSF’s largest division, Food and Nutrition, and be led by Sarah Krol, vice president of the division. It will be renamed “Cambium Analytica, an NSF company,” and the 69 Cambium employees will continue to operate out of the Traverse City, Mich., headquarters. NSF will work together with Cambia leaders to ensure a seamless transition for customers.
