Doing Without Cream Cheese

Dec. 17, 2021

Kraft Heinz pays consumers not to buy.

Just when you think the supply-chain situation can’t get any more dire, here comes Kraft Heinz with an offer I don’t think I’ve seen the likes of before: They’ll pay you not to buy their Philadelphia brand cream cheese.

It’s actually very clever. The deal is, Kraft Heinz will reimburse 10,000 lucky consumers $20 against the cost of any dessert they buy between now and Christmas Eve, as long as it’s not cheesecake, if they register on this website.

I have two thoughts for Kraft Heinz here:

1) As much as I love your products, I’d be willing to do without any number of them as long as I’m paid. Call me.

2) If Philadelphia cream cheese is in such short supply, why were you advertising it on today’s “Good Morning America”?
