Maple Leaf Foods is rolling out a line of meat and sausage products with 50% real meat and 50% plant-based protein.

Maple Leaf 50/50 includes burgers, ground product, and breakfast and dinner sausages. The first two contain beef and the sausages contain pork, but all of them have plant-based analogue material, based on pea protein.

“Canadians curious about plant-based protein can now incorporate it into their meals without compromising on great taste,” Maple Leaf said in a news release.

The products deliver between 10g and 21g of protein per serving.

“We are proud to launch Maple Leaf 50/50™ and introduce fusion protein as a balance of meat and plant-based protein for Canadians who love meat protein but want to make sustainable food choices,” Casey Richards, Maple Leaf’s SVP for marketing and innovation, said in a statement.
