Executive Changes: J.M. Smucker, Mondelez

Aug. 29, 2014
Jackson, Denman move up at Smucker; West leaves Mondelez

J.M. Smucker Co. made some executive changes in June. Kevin Jackson was promoted to vice president and general manager of foodservice. He replaced Ken Miller, who retired on June 15 after 34 years with the company. Jackson has been with Smucker 12 years in marketing leadership positions within the U.S. retail business. John Denman, currently vice president, controller, and chief accounting officer, was appointed vice president of human resource operations. That's slightly different than vice president of human resources, which is the new title of Jill Penrose. Denman's been with the company for more than 30 years; Penrose for 10.

Amidst a number of organizational changes at Mondelez International, Mary Beth West, who was a vice president and chief category and marketing officer, is leaving the company "to pursue other interests." Marketing will now be overseen by Mark Clouse, Mondelez's North American president, who will assume the newly created role of chief growth officer. That role will have responsibility over corporate strategy and global marketing, sales and research and development. West had a long career at predecessor Kraft and even Kraft predecessor General Foods, where she assumed the top marketing role in 2007.
