Cargill Responds to Consumer Concerns with Change in Beef Labeling

According to an exclusive report with the Reuters News Service, Cargill said the new ground-beef packaging should debut in early 2014.

Cargill Inc told Reuters on Tuesday that it will begin labeling its finely textured beef when it is used in the making of its U.S. ground beef products. Cargill said the new ground-beef packaging, which should debut in early 2014, came about after the company surveyed more than 3,000 consumers about their views on ground beef and how it is made.
