Omaha, Nebraska-based MSR Group has been performing market research on HFCS since 2008, inquiring into consumer preferences and examining their motivations. Over the course of three years, the group has interviewed more than 10,000 primary grocery shoppers and has found that HFCS is one of the last things on the minds of consumers. According to a survey conducted in July 2011, more than 30 percent of consumers said they were trying to avoid sugars, while fewer than 2 percent specifically named HFCS.
