Nestle offers consumers a spa experience

Oct 25, 2004

Nestlé is introducing a new seven-SKU Lean Cuisine line that will debut in January, reports Advertising Age. Called Spa Cuisine, the line is made with 100% whole-grain rice and pastas and a bigger push into the health and wellness arena. The entrees contain fewer than 300 calories and 3 to 5 grams of fiber-rich whole grains.

Frozen meals in general have been hit hard by the low-carb craze. Sales for Lean Cuisine frozen dinners and entrees were down 8.7 percent in food, drug and mass outlets excluding Wal-Mart for the 52 weeks ended Oct. 3, according to Information Resources Inc.
