Google Launches World-Wide Search for Two Executive Chefs

Google Inc. on August 4 announced a worldwide search for two executive chefs with the experience to creatively manage the preparation of thousands of quality breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals each day at the company's Mountain View, Calif., headquarters. The executive chefs will oversee the development and continual refinement of an eclectic menu capable of suiting every Googler palate, while using organic ingredients whenever possible."These two chefs will play an important role in managing the company's growing appetites," said Sergey Brin, president, Technology, Google Inc. "We welcome all culinary engineers to try out for our exceptional team."On average, Google employees are served more than 5,000 fine meals every workday, free, at Google’s headquarters campus. For years, Charlie Fehrs – formerly the chef for the Grateful Dead – served as Executive Chef at Google, supervising a staff of more than 100 who daily prepared an eclectic menu to suit every palate – from vegetarian to sushi, burgers to Mexican – served in Google’s five restaurants on the campus. As always, natural and organic ingredients are used whenever possible to prepare delicious, healthy meals for the staff.The CookoffQualified chefs are invited to submit their resumes to Google at [email protected]. When a critical mass of submissions has been received, the top candidates will be invited to Google headquarters to prepare a meal for the "tasting committee." Four finalists will compete in a Google Chef Cookoff, whose two winners will be offered the roles of Executive Chef at Google.
