New R&D Centers for PepsiCo, Pinnacle

Oct. 31, 2014
PepsiCo builds in Mexico; Pinnacle at Rutgers University.

PepsiCo's first research and development center in Mexico will focus on creating better-for-you products for the Quaker, Gamesa, Sabritas and Lay's brands, among others. The plant is part of the company's $5 billion investment in the country for the next five years and joins other "centers of excellence" in Texas, Illinois and New York.

Pinnacle Foods opened an R&D facility for its Duncan Hines Grocery Division at Rutgers University, New Jersey. The facility, the company's first university-affiliated pilot program, expands on the relationship the company already developed with the university through an undergraduate internship program. The fully equipped facility will replicate Pinnacle's existing production processes and evaluate process changes as well as conduct consumer testing.
