PMMI and Koelnmesse Promise U.S. Show for 2017

March 24, 2015
U.S. association and European trade show company plan springtime U.S. processing and packaging show.

PMMI, "The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies" and producer of the Pack Expo trade shows, has entered into an agreement to co-produce a new U.S. trade show in 2017 with Koelnmesse GmbH, the leading producer of food-related trade fairs in Europe and Asia.

The unnamed new show, which will launch in spring 2017, will focus on processing and packaging technologies serving the food and beverage marketplace. The location has not been announced.

PMMI formerly was known as Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute, but it has kept only those initials as it broadened its appeal to the processing side of food & beverage machinery. Koelnmesse this week was staging its huge Cologne-based Anuga FoodTec, an international equipment expo for the global food & beverage industry.

PMMI's next big event is Pack Expo Las Vegas, Sept. 28 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
