Andrew Jacobs, who has been Hostess Brands Inc.'s executive vice president and chief commercial officer, has been promoted to EVP and chief operating officer. It could be a step toward becoming CEO when Bill Toler retires early next year.
Jacobs has been EVP and COO just since June, but he joined the company early in 2014 as senior vice president of strategic channels and then became chief customer officer.
Prior to joining Hostess, Jacobs was president of Wolfgang Candy Co. from September 2012 until February 2014 and was vice president and general manager-U.S. customers for Hershey Co. from September 2003 through May 2012.
CEO Bill Toler announced in October he plans to retire as president and CEO on March 1, 2018, or sooner if a replacement is found. He will remain on the company’s board of directors.
