Deadline is Jan. 9 for $25,000 pitch competition at next summer's IFT Food Expo.

Now is the time to apply for the 2020 IFTNext Food Disruption Challenge, a pitch held at IFT's Annual Event and Food Expo in Chicago July 14, 2020.

The Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) designed the program to help emerging and investment-ready companies gain visibility and make strategic connections to advance the science of food and its positive impact on the sustainability of our global food supply. Competition winner receives $25,000.

The deadline to apply is Jan. 9.

The IFTNext Food Disruption Challenge offers participants the opportunity to pitch your idea, product, or innovation to get high profile exposure, with the possibility of getting capital and resources to help fund and advance your innovation and an opportunity to be mentored by industry’s leaders who can help you navigate the start-up landscape.

In the coming months, applicants will be whittled down to six finalists, who will present at the IFT Food Expo in July. Judges will select a finalist to be named Food Disruptor of the Year, including a $25,000 cash prize. Session attendees will select a "People’s Choice" awardee for a cash prize of $5,000.
