Four Executives Promoted While Four More are Out at Hershey Co.

Jan. 1, 2020
CEO Michele Buck changes a handful of direct reports.

Effective Jan. 1, Hershey Co. promoted four executives, mostly to take the places of four others who were retiring or leaving the company. Todd Tillemans and Kevin Walling are leaving the company, and Mary Beth West and Terry O’Day are retiring. Promoted are Chuck Raup, Kristen Riggs, Chris Scalia and Hector de la Barreda.

Raup, who was vice president of U.S. CMG, was promoted to U.S. president. Before his 10 years with Hershey, he was an executive at Kraft. He succeeds Tillemans, "who is leaving the company to pursue a leadership opportunity," the statement said.

Riggs, who was VP of Innovation and Strategic Growth Platforms, becomes Chief Growth Officer – West's title. Riggs has been with Hershey 15 years.

Scalia, who is vice president of global human resources, becomes senior VP and chief human resources officer. He replaces Kevin Walling, "who is leaving the company to join a Fortune 200 company as CHRO," the statement said.

De la Barreda remains president of the Amplify brands businesses, but now he reports directly to CEO Michele Buck, who became CEO in 2017.

O’Day, a senior VP and chief technology and data officer, will retire from the company on March 31. Steve Voskuil, chief financial officer, will take over Hershey’s technology efforts.
