Ferrero North America has announced plans to build its first chocolate manufacturing center in North America.

The new manufacturing capacity will be an expansion of an existing facility in Bloomington, Ill., a Chicago suburb. It will produce chocolate to be used in Ferrero products including 100Grand, Crunch, SnoCaps and Raisinets. The $75 million expansion will begin next spring and is expected to add 70,000 square feet to the facility and bring 50 more jobs.

“North America will be home to our third chocolate manufacturing plant in the world. This investment strengthens our commitment to the region and will play a crucial role in meeting our global growth goals,” Lapo Civiletti, CEO of the Ferrero Group, said in a statement.
