Conagra Plans $60M Expansion for Slim Jims

Troy, Ohio, plant will receive its fourth expansion, adding 100 jobs.

Conagra Brands is planning a fourth expansion of its Troy, Ohio, plant, a $60 million project that will add 100 new jobs primarily to make Slim Jims meat snacks.

The project, a 15,000-sq.-ft. addition, is expected to start in August and continue through February 2023, according to the Dayton Daily News. Equipment installation and startup of operations is targeted for January through May 2023.

The newspaper quoted the plant manager as saying there's been heavy demand for the company's meat snacks. The company just added add 63,000 sq. ft., including new smokehouses, drying rooms and packaging equipment, in a $100 million expansion in late 2020. That expansion added 200 new jobs.
