Target Corp. is getting deeper into the alternative-protein market by rolling out a full line of plant-based private label foods.
More than 30 such products will join Target’s lineup, including beef and chicken alternatives, vegan spreads, oat milk and plant-based dips. They will be sold under Target’s “Good & Gather” line, which launched about two years ago.
"By adding 'Good & Gather Plant Based' to our curated assortment of plant-based offerings, we're giving guests more of what they want and making it easy for them to discover the joy of food every day,” Rick Gomez, Target’s chief food and beverage officer, said in a statement.
All of the new plant-based items will retail for less than $8. They will roll out online and in stores through this fall.
