American Foods Group has announced that Warren County, Mo., will be the site of a new $450 million beef processing facility.

American Foods Group has announced that Warren County, Mo., will be the site of a new $450 million beef processing facility.

The plant will have a payroll of more than $80 million annually, and will be directly or indirectly responsible for adding an estimated 1,300 new jobs to the region.

“We have been impressed by Warren County and the potential opportunity to become a part of that community,” AFG Executive Vice President Jim Rathke said in a statement. “The process will take some time, but we feel very good about what we have seen in Warren County, Missouri.”

American Foods Group produces beef products, prepared meats and meat snacks. Its brands include Sheboygan Sausage, Skylark Meats and Vinnie's Patties. It ranked 55th this year in the Food Processing Top 100, with estimated 2020 sales of $2.4 billion.
