Plumrose USA Plans a $200 Million Italian Meats Plant … Somewhere

Sept. 1, 2020
The JBS subsidiary apparently is looking for a suitable site.

Plumrose USA, a branded, packaged meat subsidiary of JBS USA, in August announced its intention to build a $200 million Italian meats and charcuterie production facility … somewhere.

"The estimated $200M greenfield project will be strategically located to efficiently access raw material and leverage synergies with existing corporate assets," the company said. Plumrose, a 2017 acquisition by JBS, makes Italian meats, such as salami and prosciutto.

The location apparently is still up for grabs. Plumrose currently operates six production facilities in Booneville, Miss.; Elkhart, Ind.; Council Bluffs, Iowa; Ottumwa, Iowa; and Swanton, Vt.
