According to a release sent by the company, Canon, Ga.-based poultry processor Jarrett Foods has announced the retirement of president Terry Willis.

The most recent release said that Willis began with the company in the fall of 2023, during Jarrett Foods’ construction phase. Food Processing ran a news item in early June 2024 on his appointment to president via a release from the company sent at that time. The renovation and construction of the Lavonia, Ga., processing facility was announced in the fall of 2023, at which point, Willis was quoted in local reports as “president.”

Regardless of Willis’ official title, CEO Heath Jarrett said the company appreciated Willis’ commitment and dedication to Jarrett Foods from “the initial concept meetings, throughout the construction phase and start-up of the plant.”

The new processing plant opened in July 2024. Jarrett Foods offers a wide range of poultry processing, from whole bird cut-up, custom breast and thigh deboning, breast and tender hand-portioning, marination, and repacking services.
