Egg producer Hillandale Farms has hired away a TreeHouse Foods executive to be its new CEO.

Kevin Jackson had been chief commercial officer at TreeHouse and president of its snacking and beverages division. Prior to TreeHouse, Jackson had worked for 18 years at J.M. Smucker.

“Kevin is a highly respected leader who brings a track record of exceptional performance in consumer-facing industries across North America,” Orland Bethel, founder and chairman of Hillandale Farms, said in a statement. “His demonstrated abilities in leading a distributed organization and aligning different teams is important, together with his capabilities in leading a people-focused organization and developing high potential employees.”

Hillandale Farms claims to be among the top five U.S. shell egg producers, with annual revenue of more than $800 million.
