Fairfield, N.J.-based Schuman Cheese will partner with Wyke Farms, a UK-based independent cheese producer, to be the exclusive supplier for Wyke Farms and its sub-brands across British cheddars and butter in the U.S. market. The partnership includes the Ivy’s Reserve brand, and it supports Schuman’s portfolio growth in premium and imported products.

Wyke Farms was founded in Somerset, England, and is one of the UK’s oldest family-run cheesemakers, with nearly 300 years of farming and cheesemaking heritage, the announcement said. Ivy’s Reserve is Wyke’s premium heritage range. It is named after Ivy Clothier, grandmother of the current, third-generation leadership of Wyke Farms. Its cheddar products are aged in Somerset for creamier texture and layered flavor complexity, and its butter is slow-churned with traditionally aged cream for a smooth texture and rich, clean taste, the company said.

Ian Schuman, executive vice president of International Business Development at Schuman Cheese said the move fits with the company’s “long history of building brands with purpose and longevity in the U.S. market.”
