Fresh Del Monte Appoints North American Senior VP to Drive Operational Excellence
Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc., producer of fresh and fresh-cut fruits and vegetables, has appointed Danny Dumas to be its senior vice president of Sales, Marketing & Product Management for North America. Dumas will oversee business in those three areas, plus technical services and quality assurance for port operations.
He brings more than 35 years of industry expertise and underscores Fresh Del Monte’s commitment to sustainable growth, innovation and operational excellence across its North American distribution centers, production facilities and retail partnerships, the company said in its announcement on the appointment.
Dumas has previously worked for Fresh Del Monte, leading business initiatives across North America and Europe in that prior stint with the company. He also has served as senior vice president at Calavo Growers. Also in Dumas’ career portfolio are the successful launch of a new business venture, the overhaul of a private company’s administrative operations to enhance efficiency, and driving the merger of United Fresh with the Produce Marketing Assn. (PMA) as the chair of United Fresh.
Mohammad Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman and CEO of Fresh Del Monte Produce, said Dumas’ return comes “at a pivotal time as we continue to evolve our North American operations to meet growing market demands.”
