Little Leaf Farms Opens Third Greenhouse, Begins Building a Fourth in Pennsylvania
Packaged lettuce producer Little Leaf Farms, which grows its products indoors in controlled environment agriculture (CEA) greenhouses, recently opened its third greenhouse at its McAdoo, Pa., facility and also announced and broke ground on a fourth greenhouse there, according to a release from the company.
The adjacent fourth greenhouse will support Little Leaf’s growth, which has continued since the third greenhouse expansion was announced in June 2024. Little Leaf built the first greenhouse at the McAdoo campus in June 2023.
The company expects to open the fourth greenhouse in the fall of 2025, and the additional 20 acres of greenhouse space is expected to support Little Leaf’s retail offerings throughout the Northeast, Southeast and Midwest. The company says its products now reach 66% more U.S. households compared to 2023, and it services more than 7,000 grocery stores.
The two newest greenhouses in Pennsylvania are the sixth and seventh overall for the company, as it has a production campus in Devens, Mass., as well. Little Leaf said in the release it continues to explore sites in the Midwest and Southeast to build additional facilities.
