Fermented Food Holdings Inc. (FFH) has named Jorge Azevedo as its chief executive officer (CEO) — its first one since it was founded in 2021. The company had been led by co-presidents Oliver Joost and Marcelo Marim, each of whom will retain that title and take on additional duties.
The time was right for FFH, which has experienced significant growth in recent times, with a 50% year-over-year increase in the past three years, the release noted.
Azevedo has been FFH’s chief operating officer since 2022, when he joined the company. He has more than 15 years of experience in business operations, sales and brand development. He will oversee the entire business, including the Bubbies, wildbrine and Flanagan Farm brands of fermented foods, among others.
Prior to his time at FFH thus far, Azevedo was a founding partner and chief growth officer at Planterra Foods, and had been head of U.S. Sales Execution and Finance for Kraft Heinz. He began his career as an analyst at Goldman Sachs.
Joost will maintain his role as co-president but will add executive chairman to his business cards, while Marim also retains his position as co-president, acting CFO and member of the board.
