Chobani, known for its Greek-style yogurt and coffee creamers—as well as being one of Food Processing's Processors of the Year—has entered the peanut butter aisle with its latest introduction: Chobani Ends Child Hunger Peanut Butter Flavored Nutrient Spreads.
The peanut butter-flavored spreads will come in a multitude of flavors and sizes. A plain peanut butter-flavored spread will be available in multi-packs of 6-1.12oz squeeze packs or a 10oz multi-serve jar; a chocolate and peanut butter-flavored spread will available in 6-1.12oz squeeze packs or a 10oz multi-serve jar; and a cookie dough and peanut butter-flavored spread will be available in 6-1.12oz squeeze packs.
Additional infant-friendly spreads with nut and fruit infusions will also be available at most major supermarkets nationwide and online. The special line is formulated to reduce the choking hazard associated with the early introduction of peanuts recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
The peanut butter-flavored spreads are being done in partnership with Edesia Nutrition, which was the first non-profit participant in Chobani's incubator program in 2019. According to Chobani, the company will donate 100% of profits from its peanut spreads to Edesia for production of Plumpy'Nut®, its fortified peanut butter that is shipped around the world across 60 countries to nourish children with acute malnutrition.
