Wisdom Natural Brands, the Gilbert, Ariz.-based parent company of the SweetLeaf brand of natural sugar substitutes, has acquired Canadian company Drizzle Honey, which provides sustainably sourced raw and superfood honey products, according to a release from Wisdom.

Drizzle complements Wisdom’s natural sweetener portfolio, the company noted, and it opens the door for the brand to be distributed in the U.S. Drizzle products include white raw and golden raw honeys, raw honey infused with organic superfoods such as ginger, turmeric, cacao and berries, and craft products like cinnamon-spiced honey and hot honey infused with spicy crushed chilies.

The products are currently distributed in 1,200 retail stores in Canada and online, but Wisdom plans to expand its reach to the more than 11,000 U.S. retail locations that carry SweetLeaf sweeteners.

Drizzle is a female-founded business that donates 1% of profits to pollinator research and protection. It achieved Certified B Corp. status in 2019.
