Three Wishes Foods Inc. is growing outside of the cereal aisle with the launch of chewy Three Wishes Grain-Free Granola Bars. The individually wrapped bars come in boxes of five in three nostalgic flavors: chocolate chip, chocolate peanut butter and s’mores. They made their debut at 1,500-plus Target stores across the country, as well as on Target’s ecommerce site on Sept. 22, where they cost $5.99 per box.

These bars are a solution for consumers who are seeking better ingredients and better macro nutrient profiles, according to the company. While most granola bars are based on wheat and oats, Three Wishes Grain-Free Granola Bars are void of these ingredients. They are also vegan, kosher, verified non-GMO and do not contain corn, rice or soy. The company uses a blend of nuts and seeds to deliver 6g of protein per bar while keeping sugars limited to 3g per bar.

Better-for-You Breakfast

As more businesses require employees to get into the office, convenient breakfast foods are booming once again. Amy’s Kitchen, the national leader in organic and natural frozen food, is entering the category with a range of frozen breakfast burritos, wraps and entrees.

Amy’s puts an innovative twist on them by replacing eggs with the company’s signature, house-made tofu, which uses organic, non-GMO soybeans and a traditional process. Catering to a variety of dietary restrictions and preferences, Amy’s entire frozen breakfast lineup is made with organic, non-GMO ingredients and is free from eggs, meat, seafood and peanuts.

Offerings include California Scramble, which provides 28g of protein. The fluffy tofu “eggs” are covered with real cheese and served with crispy hash browns. The Mexican Scramble (25g protein) includes bell peppers and cheese, along with sweet corn masa strips, tomato salsa and spiced black beans on the side. For those avoiding dairy, there’s a vegan Tofu Scramble (20g protein) with spinach, carrots and mushrooms served with hash brown potatoes and tomato salsa. There’s also a Gluten Free Tofu Scramble Wrap, Ranchero Burrito and Scramble Wrap.

Canned Protein Milk

Nurri is a new lifestyle brand focused on “nurrishing life.” The new shelf-stable Protein Milk Shakes are making their debut at Costco stores nationwide in 12-packs of 11-oz. slim cans. One can of chocolate contains 30g of protein, 1g of sugar and 10 vitamins and minerals. Strawberry and vanilla flavors will be available soon. The flavored milks are made using ultrafiltration technology, which concentrates the nutrients and removes the lactose, allowing for a lactose-free claim. The suggested retail price for a 12-pack is $19.99.

For Hickory Nut Gap Meats, “clean” means using 100% grassfed and grass-finished cattle that are raised on high-quality pasture without the use of antibiotics or added hormones. It also means Hickory Nut Gap hot dogs are minimally processed with no preservatives, fillers, artificial ingredients, added nitrates or nitrites, gluten, lactose nor monosodium glutamate.

Scary Snack Cakes

J.M. Smucker Co. is bringing back five fall-inspired treats and introducing a new festive Halloween variety under its Hostess brand of sweet baked snacks. Returning snacks are Pumpkin Spice Twinkies, Iced Pumpkin CupCakes and Maple Glazed Donettes.

New offerings are FrankenCakes (soft yellow cake and crème filling topped with green icing), Spooky Twinkies (chocolate cake and crème filling) and ScaryCakes (chocolate cake with crème filling topped with orange icing).

The Halloween snacks come in a multipack as well as new family-sized trick-or-treat packs. Both package sizes include Halloween-themed individual wrapping, making them perfect for sharing during classroom celebrations and trick-or-treating festivities. Spooky Twinkies and ScaryCakes also come in single-serve packages.

Cheese-Forward Pasta

Frozen meals brand Stouffer’s from Nestlé USA is entering the center of the store with shelf-stable boxed mac and cheese. This is the first time the brand can be found outside the freezer. Stouffer’s Supreme Shells & Cheese is made with dry pasta and a liquid cheese sauce and comes in two varieties: Cheddar Cheese and Three Cheese (white cheddar, gouda and parmesan), with additional innovations to rollout in 2025.

The brand said it offers 10% more cheese sauce than the leading shelf-stable shells and cheese product in order to deliver a more cheese-forward flavor profile. With a stovetop cooking time of 10 minutes and no additional ingredients required, the new pasta dish functions as both entrée and side dish. A 12-oz. box has a suggested retail price of $3.99.

“Americans love their mac and cheese,” said Megan McLaughlin, senior brand manager. “We saw an opportunity to expand beyond our fan-favorite frozen options.”
