Organic Snack Bites
Flowers Bakeries LLC, owners of the Dave’s Killer Bread brand, is growing its on-the-go snack product line with the national launch of Organic Snack Bites, which are whole grain clusters in sweet and savory formulations.
The Cinna Roll variety features chia seeds, pumpkin seeds and crisp brown rice with a sweet cinnamon kick. PB & Chocolate provides a salty-sweet bite with peanut butter, rolled oats, cocoa butter, quinoa flakes and sea salt. Honey Nut bites are packed with rolled oats, honey and dry roasted almonds, while Epic Everything contains crunchy bits of garlic and onion with pumpkin seeds, cashews, quinoa flakes and sunflower kernels. Bold Buffalo is made with cashews, pumpkin seeds, rolled oats and crisp brown rice and provides a classic buffalo tangy taste. The sixth and final offering is Toasted Garlic, made with garlicky rolled oats, poppy seeds, quinoa flakes and crisp brown rice.
“The positive response to our snack and protein bars has confirmed that people crave snacks that balance nutrition with exceptional taste and texture,” says Danielle Benjamin, senior director of brand management.
Gluten-Free Indulgence
New Absolutely! Gluten Free Frozen Cookie Dough from Kayco Beyond comes in three varieties: Chocolate Chip, Double Chocolate and Sugar Cookie. The frozen format provides for an extended shelf life compared to refrigerated alternatives, and with Absolutely! Gluten Free’s commitment to clean and wholesome ingredients, these cookie doughs are free from gluten, dairy, tree nuts, peanuts and artificial additives.
A 12-oz. package bakes up a dozen cookies and has a suggested retail price of $5.99. The new cookie dough joins the company’s other gluten-free products, including crackers and flatbreads made of potato in Everything, Toasted Onion and Cracked Pepper flavors; Coconut Chews made with sulfite-free coconut in flavors like Blueberry and Key Lime; and Macaroons in Chocolate and Coconut flavors. The last are also free of dairy, rice and soy.
Philanthropic Salad Kits
Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc., through its vegetable division, Mann Packing, introduces Newman’s Own Salad Kits, the first packaged salad kits from the philanthropic food brand. The kits come in four culinary-inspired flavors.
King of the Caesars is chopped romaine with garlic Caesar croutons, parmesan cheese and creamy Caesar dressing. Rodeo Remix is chopped romaine and iceberg with country-cut ranch croutons, bacon bits, cheddar cheese and ranch dressing. Italiano Magnifico is chopped romaine and iceberg with focaccia croutons, Italian cheese blend, radicchio and Italian dressing. Parmesan Powerhouse is chopped romaine and iceberg with carrots, herb-seasoned flatbread, garlic Caesar croutons, dried chickpeas, sun-dried tomatoes and parmesan roasted garlic dressing.

Frozen Fruit Lollies
Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, a leading U.S. frozen desserts brand owned by Froneri, an international ice cream joint venture between Nestlé and PAI Partners, is rolling out Frollies. These dairy-free water ice treats are made with real fruit juices and purees with no artificial flavors or colors. The Frollies name is a playful mash-up of “frozen fruity lollies” and is intended to evoke childlike wonder with its creamy, fruity, melt-in-the-mouth, sorbet-like textures and playful shapes.
The new brand is launching with three unique flavors. Pineapple features a tart apple juice stem. Both strawberry and watermelon are blends of the namesake fruit with apple juice and feature chocolatey “seeds” for a burst of sweet. The bars are gluten-free and only 60 calories per pop. A six-count box has a suggested retail price of $4.89.
Kosher Hot Dogs
Manischewitz, a 130-plus year old kosher brand owned by Kayco, one of the largest producers and distributors of kosher foods and beverages in the U.S., makes its entry into retail refrigerators with New York Style All-Beef Hot Dogs. Offered in regular and low-fat options, a pack of six hot dogs has a suggested retail price of $9. A kosher for Passover version will be available for a limited time. The products are debuting in the Northeast region with plans to be available nationwide in the coming months.

Tropical-Flavored Milk
Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), a national cooperative owned by more than 10,000 family dairy farmers, has teamed up with Walt Disney Animation Studios to roll out TruMoo Disney Moana Strawberry Banana Lowfat Milk. The limited-edition milk comes to the dairy aisle on the heels of the holiday box office hit Moana 2 and in advance of the movie’s streaming release on Disney+ this year.
This whimsical pink milk features strawberries and sweet bananas dancing together in a wave of flavor. Each 8-oz. serving contains 150 calories, 2.5g of total fat, 11g of added sugars and provides essential vitamins and minerals, including calcium and vitamin D.
