Bar Foods on a Pizza

Tombstone.com

After a night out, do you crave pizza or french fries? Nestle USA has you covered with new Tombstone French Fry Style Crust Pizza. The brand combines the favorite bar foods with a gluten-free potato-powered crust. The Loaded Bacon Cheddar crust is covered in a cheddar cheese sauce and loaded with mozzarella and cheddar cheeses plus a bacon and pork belly blend. The Chili Cheese crust is topped with a hamburger chili cheese sauce plus mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, red onion and parsley. Tombstone got its name from where it was born, The Tombstone Tap in Medford, Wis.

“We wear our born-in-a-bar heritage with pride. It’s not just where we started. It’s who we are,” says Terry Klein, brand manager. “Our fans aren’t asking for ordinary, and we’re not here to play it safe. This new crust is a bold spin on two iconic bar foods--pizza and fries--fueled by what we’re hearing from fans and what’s trending in culture. It’s unexpected and unmistakably Tombstone.”

The suggested retail price for one frozen pizza is $6.49.

Dairy Protein Gets More Convenient

OIKOS Pro® Drinks - High Protein Drinks

Danone North America steps a little outside the dairy aisle with the debut of Oikos Protein Shakes. Each ready-to-drink, 12-oz. bottle provides 30g of complete protein from milk protein concentrate and micellular casein isolate and 5g of prebiotic fiber from inulin with only 1g of sugar, none of which is added sugar. Sweetness comes from stevia. Oikos Protein Shakes are available in three flavors: chocolate, salted caramel and vanilla.

“Protein isn’t just a necessity for gym-goers looking to up their gains. It’s also for people with on-the-go lifestyles who are looking for an easy and convenient way to incorporate a nutritious protein boost into their everyday hustle,” says Rafael Acevedo, president and general manager of yogurt at Danone North America. “And since Oikos Protein Shakes have prebiotic fiber and no artificial sweeteners, we’re excited to introduce this nutritious option to the protein category for people who want to feel powerful from the inside out.”

Packing Protein Into Grains

Kodiak® | Feeding Epic Days & Wilder Lives™

Kodiak, the breakfast brand known for its protein-packed, whole-grain products, has two new product lines: Kodiak Trail Bars and Kodiak Frozen Breakfast Sandwiches. The bars come in cranberry chocolate chip and chocolate almond flavors. They are made with real chocolate, nuts, seeds and fruit, with each bar packing in 7g of protein and being a good source of fiber.

With the frozen sandwiches, 100% whole grain maple flapjacks replace the expected bread for a flavorful upgrade. Combinations are sausage, egg and mild cheddar or uncured bacon, egg and colby jack cheese. Each microwaveable sandwich provides 20g of protein.

These innovations follow the launch of Kodiak Protein-Packed Granola earlier this year. The granola is made with 100% whole grain oats and coconut oil and is enriched with whey protein isolate and pea protein to provide 16g of protein per serving. The granola comes in three flavors: chocolate, cookie butter and honey oat.
