Kraft Heinz Debuts Plant-Based Oscar Mayer Hot Dogs and Sausages

March 6, 2024
NotHotDogs and NotSausages are the newest products from the 2022 joint venture between Kraft Heinz and TheNotCompany.

Today (March 6) Kraft Heinz debuted the first Oscar Mayer hot dogs and sausages made from plant-based ingredients.

Actually, the announcement of NotHotDogs and NotSausages came from Kraft Heinz Not Co., the 2022 joint venture between Kraft Heinz and TheNotCompany Inc., a Chile-based developer of alternative meat, milk and other products. The announcement said the tubular steaks “offer the savory and smoky experience that brand fans have known and loved for more than 140 years.”

“Oscar Mayer NotHotDogs and NotSausages offer fans the smoky, savory taste, meaty color, and thick, juicy bite they are craving in plant-based alternatives,” the announcement continued. The new products will debut at Natural Products Expo West next week and will roll out to major retailers nationwide later in 2024.

The plant-based dogs and sausages (the latter in bratwurst and Italian sausage flavors) are the latest product to come from the Kraft Heinz-Not Co. joint venture, which last year produced Kraft NotMac&Cheese, Kraft NotCheese Slices and NotMayo. “Looking to the year ahead, The Kraft Heinz Not Company plans to scale into additional categories and recently began its international expansion,” officials said.
