Two months after completing its $1.95 billion acquisition of Poppi, PepsiCo announced it’s launching prebiotic versions of Pepsi-branded cola drinks.
Pepsi Prebiotic Cola in regular and cherry vanilla flavors will be available online this fall and at retail in early 2026. The beverages will contain 5g of cane sugar, 30 calories and no artificial sweeteners, plus 3g of prebiotic fiber – presumably from the agave inulin and cassava root fiber used in Poppi sodas. No mention if the Pepsi colas will contain apple cider vinegar, as Poppi does.
They will be available in 12-oz. single cans for trial and eight-packs of 12 oz. cans.
While Poppi is best known for its fruit flavors (Raspberry Rose, Ginger Lime, Watermelon) it also comes in Classic Cola and Cherry Cola.
“There’s plenty of room for both Poppi and Pepsi Prebiotic Cola because they serve different consumer preferences and cohorts,” said a PepsiCo spokesperson. “Poppi is the original modern soda: premium and built from the ground up with better-for-you ingredients that resonate with flavor-seeking Gen Z consumers. Pepsi Prebiotic Cola is the evolution of a classic.”
