Atkins is more than a diet. The company recently launched a line of low-carbohydrate, high-protein bars and drinks targeted to fitness enthusiasts -- not the weight loss community -- and merchandised in the sports nutrition aisle. This is a first for Atkins.
Atkins Lift Protein Bars contain 20-21g of whey protein and 4-5g of net carbohydrates to help keep consumers going without slowing down. In addition to whey proteins, the bars are powered by soluble corn fiber, delivering 16g of fiber per bar. To keep sugar and net carbs low, sucralose gives the bars some sweetness. They are also colored and flavored with natural ingredients. There are four varieties: Chocolate Brownie with Almonds, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip and Salted Caramel Crunch.
There are three flavors of Atkins Lift Protein Drinks: Berry, Lemon and Orange. Each 16.9-oz. bottle contains 90-100 calories, depending on flavor, along with no sugar and 20g of whey protein. Water is the first ingredient and the beverage is sweetened with sucralose. Fruit and vegetable juices naturally color the shelf-stable drinks.
