According to Zagat’s 2009 U.S. Top Restaurant Survey, 69 percent of diners say low fat, heart-healthy food items are important and 65 percent agree that trans fats should be banned. Therefore, providing foods that consumers’ desire and promote health and wellness is a top priority for foodservice operations that want to continue to meet the needs of their customers.
Peach Glen, Pa.-based Knouse Foods, a fruit-grower owned cooperative, introduces a new line of Lucky Leaf trans fat-free puddings in both single-serve cups and 112-ounce cans for foodservice operators in the commercial and non-commercial segments.
Available in Vanilla, Tapioca, Butterscotch, Banana and Chocolate flavors, the new puddings are helping foodservice operators and chefs eliminate trans fat and offer healthier choices to patrons without sacrificing quality and taste.
