NSF International and Trucost Plc. sponsored the award at the 2009 Beverage Innovation Awards held during Drinktec, the world’s largest drink technology trade show
NSF International, a public health and safety organization that certifies products and writes standards for food, water and consumer goods, partnered with Trucost, a world-leading environmental research organization, to sponsor the best environmental initiative award.
Thonhauser’s TM Smart Track dry lubrication solution has been registered by NSF’s Nonfood Compounds Registration Program since 2005. NSF’s Nonfood Compounds Registration Program is a voluntary program for manufacturers of compounds used in and around food establishments (nonfood compounds), such as lubricants and disinfectants, and those used for pre-processing of food proprietary substances, such as fruit and vegetable washing agents. NSF Registration helps assure inspection officials and end users that nonfood compounds used in the manufacturing process meet appropriate food safety regulations.
A panel of judges, comprised of representatives from industry, media and the scientific community, voted after reviewing entries in each category. The entry with the most votes per category won the award.
