McCormick Redesigns ‘Red Cap’ Products for First Time in Decades

New bottles and caps focus on improving the shelf life and ease of the product for consumers.
March 14, 2023
McCormick & Co. has launched a new look and completely redesigned cap for its core red cap branded products — the first major change to the line’s look and function in nearly 40 years, the company announced in a news release. After working with consumers to address their demand for the freshest herbs and spices, McCormick is introducing the new SnapTight lids, which make it easier for consumers to know the bottles are sealed and shelf life secured.

McCormick says all red cap products will transition to the new bottles and caps over the next year, nationwide. The new bottles are made from a 50% post-consumer recycled plastic, and product names and best-by dates are printed on the lid for ease of identification for consumers that lay the bottles on their sides for storage. Furthermore, McCormick reports that it has improved its bottling process to draw out excess air during filling, reducing the amount of oxygen inside.
